World Food Day Celebrations Held in Topolul, Kodich Ward, Kacheliba Sub-County
The County Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries successfully marked World Food Day in Topolul, Kodich Ward, Kacheliba Sub-County, bringing together various stakeholders to emphasize the importance of food security and sustainable agriculture.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Peter Wamalwa, who led discussions on promoting innovative agricultural practices to enhance food production and resilience in the region. The occasion saw active participation from local communities, including all Sub-County Agricultural Officers (SCAOs), agriculture staff, and representatives from the livestock, veterinary, and fisheries departments.
Key partners such as ACF (Action Against Hunger), ADS (Anglican Development Services), SeedCo, Osho, and Uzima Chicken were present, showcasing resources and solutions to improve agricultural productivity. Chiefs, ward administrators, local schools, men, and women also participated, contributing to the day's collaborative spirit.
The celebration highlighted the county's ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity through climate-smart agriculture and strengthening the agricultural value chain. With the community and stakeholders working together, the event enhanced the collective effort needed to ensure a food-secure future for West Pokot County.
