West Pokot Explores Investment Opportunities with Jordanian Investors
H.E. Governor Simon Kachapin, following the successful launch of the REAP initiative, made a strategic visit to the Jordanian Embassy in Nairobi. The visit aimed to engage Jordanian investors, seeking partnerships to operationalize the Nasukuta Export Abattoir and unlock other investment opportunities in the county.
The Jordanian Ambassador to Kenya warmly welcomed West Pokot's efforts to attract investors from Jordan, noting that many Jordanian investors are keen on agroprocessing ventures, including the meat, mango, and milk value chains. Additionally, there is interest in other promising sectors in West Pokot County.
The delegation from the Kenya Investment Authority, which accompanied the Governor, pledged their support in helping West Pokot package key investment opportunities for Jordanian investors. This collaboration sets the stage for a potential pitch to attract international partners in the near future.
Governor Kachapin extended an invitation to Jordanian investors to visit West Pokot County and explore the county’s vast investment potential. He was accompanied by key officials, including Madam Claire Parklea, CECM for Trade, Industry and Investment; Mr. Wilfred Longronyang, CEC for Agriculture and Livestock; Tyno Rotino, Chief of Staff; William Ntoina, Director for Investment; and Mr. Losapu, CEO of Nasukuta Export Abattoir.
West Pokot County, known as the County of Hidden Treasures, continues to position itself as a hub for transformative investments.
