West Pokot County Holds Policy Validation Workshop to Strengthen Trade and Investment
A two-day Policy Validation Workshop, sponsored by ACDI/VOCA, was officially inaugurated by Hon. Claire Parklea, County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Energy, and Cooperatives, at Eka Hotel in Eldoret City.
In her opening address, Hon. Parklea underscored the importance of policy validation as a critical phase in the policy development process. She emphasized that this step ensures that the policy framework provides clear guidance and procedures, fostering transparency for both the county government and potential investors. According to her, such clarity is vital in creating opportunities that will drive investment in West Pokot County.
Mr. Medika Medi, representing ACDI/VOCA, commended the West Pokot County Government for its continued commitment to crafting policies and legislation that enhance structure and clarity in the trade and investment sectors. He applauded the county’s efforts in building a conducive environment that promotes growth and instills investor confidence.
The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including civil society representatives, cooperatives, members of the County Assembly, and officials from the Department of Trade. Their collaborative input is aimed at shaping policies that will support sustainable trade and investment within the county, paving the way for long-term economic growth.
