Governor Simon Kachapin has asked the new county chief officers to work diligently to deliver on their mandates.

Speaking during the Oath of Secrecy signing ceremony held at the County Residence, Governor Kachapin urged the officers to be guided by the rule of law as they work together to transform the county.

He further stated that he will support the CECMs and chief officers while working closely with the county assembly to attain holistic sustainable development.

“We must find new ways of empowering our county residents. We must be innovative. We do so, because we believe in our abilities and capacity to achieve great things. We are simply the facilitators who can unlock the potential of this great county,” said the governor.


Flanked by his deputy Robert Komolle, Governor Kachapin advised the officers that there was no time to waste, directing them to work closely together, share ideas across all departments in order to deliver on their duties and succeed. The chief officers underwent vetting process last week.

They include Priscillah Chebet Mungo (Finance and Economic Planning), Reuben Lotumale (Roads and Public Works), Nelly Soprin (Health and Sanitation), Julius Lokituman (Education and Early Childhood Development), Raphael Kaleken (Vocational and Technical Training), Naomi Lemreng (Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation and Fisheries).

Musa Losiangole will be in charge of Trade, Co-operatives, Industries and Energy), Mathew Rionokol (Lands, Housing and Physical Planning), Leonard Kamsait (Water and Natural Resources).

Edwin Lokomol (Sports and Youth Affairs), Paul Lalat (Culture, Tourism, Heritage and Social Services), Daniel Lopale (Public Service, Devolved Units and ICT), Lilian Korinyang (Special Programs, Humanitarian Coordination & Disaster Management) and David Chepelion (Executive Office of the Governor).

The ceremony was graced by West Pokot County Speaker Hon. Fred Siywat, County Commissioner Apollo Okelo, County Police Commandant Peter Katam, CS Jonathan Siwanyang, Chief of Staff Tyno Rotino among others.
