Governor Kachapin Welcomes State Department of Housing and Urban Development Team to Review Affordable Housing and Market Developments
H.E. Governor Kachapin welcomed a Technical Committee from the State Department of Housing and Urban Development, led by Director Richard Tuta, to assess the progress of key projects across the county. The focus was on the 12-acre, 2,000-unit affordable housing project in Kapenguria Ward, as well as ongoing developments in Makutano, Chepareria Modern Market, and ESP Markets in Alale, Orolwo, Kongelai, Sigor, and Ortum.
These initiatives are crucial for boosting local businesses and improving living conditions, with completion expected within six months. Some of the projects are already well underway.
The Governor emphasized the importance of contractors adhering to project timelines while maintaining high-quality standards to ensure the success of these developments.
Deputy Governor Robert Komolle, County Commissioner Abdillahi Khalif, M.P. for Kacheliba Constituency Titus Lotee, and CECMs Ms. Claire Parklea (Trade) and Esther Chelimo (Lands) were also in attendance, contributing to the advancement of these pivotal projects.
