Governor Kachapin joins other governors on agriculture development meeting with CS Linturi

Governor Simon Kachapin together with fellow governors held a meeting with Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperatives and COG’s committee on Agriculture Hon. Mithika Linturi at Kilimo house Nairobi to deliberate on the various issues in the agricultural sector.

Issues discussed include; programs & projects being implemented directly across the Counties including distribution of fertilizer, milk coolers, farm machinery, legislations that claw back on devolved functions, & the crop-specific parastatals at the national level among other issues.

A Joint Technical Committee co-chaired between the Principal Secretary for Livestock, Hon. Jonathan Mueke and Chief Executive Officer of Council of Governors, Ms. Mary Mwiti has been established to look into the issues raised by the Council of Governors and advise the Cabinet Secretary and the Council of Governors on the implementation modalities within 9 months.
