Governor Kachapin Hosts Kapenguria High Court Team to Strengthen Judicial Collaboration
West Pokot Governor H.E. Simon Kachapin hosted a delegation from the Kapenguria High Court for a courtesy visit aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between the county government and the judiciary.
The discussions focused on improving access to justice, promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and expanding judicial services to remote areas.
Led by Presiding Judge Roseline Wendo, the judiciary team appreciated the county government’s continued support, particularly in allocating land in Konyao, Kacheliba, and Sigor for the establishment of mobile courts to bring legal services closer to the people.
Governor Kachapin reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with the judiciary to ensure efficient and timely legal processes. He also assured the team that West Pokot remains a peaceful and secure county, providing a conducive environment for judicial operations.
The judiciary emphasized the need to establish magistrate courts in every sub-county, strengthen local mediation teams for conflict resolution, and set up child-friendly courts to enhance child protection.
The county government remains dedicated to supporting judicial services and ensuring justice is accessible to all residents of West Pokot.
