Governor Kachapin Hosts Auditor General’s Team for FLoCCA Program Assessment
West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin has met with a team from the Office of the Auditor General, led by Director Emily Oyoo, who have been in county for annual performance appraisal of the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLoCCA) program. The assessment will determine whether the county has met the required performance conditions to qualify for Phase II funding.

Governor Kachapin expressed confidence in the county’s progress, highlighting the achievements of the first phase of the program. He noted that West Pokot exceeded its annual development budget allocation for FLLoCA by 8.5% through efficient fund utilization. Additionally, the county strengthened partnership engagements and secured 45% of its Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) awards, benefiting youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

“The FLoCCA program plays a crucial role in our strategy to combat climate change by promoting eco-friendly practices and sustainable investments. By aligning our projects with community needs, we are ensuring that climate action initiatives have a lasting impact,” said Governor Kachapin.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and implementing projects that prioritize sustainability, aiming for a greener and more resilient future for West Pokot.
The Auditor General’s assessment will provide insights into the county’s performance and guide the next phase of the FLoCCA program, which supports locally driven climate adaptation and mitigation efforts.
