The county boss said his government is keen to ensure its residents receive essential services such as health, water, education and roads infrastructure to steer the county towards sustainable development.

“Hunger affects everyone, even some pockets in Makutano Town. We will identify affected persons and ensure the food aid reaches them,” said the governor.

He however stressed that politicians needed to focus on development and avoid unnecessary policing at the cost of advancing the county.

On town planning, the governor asked the public to allow road construction and expansions to continue. He said many locals had encroached on road reserves, making it difficult to expand road networks.

His deputy Robert Komolle hailed the governor’s efforts and initiatives to transform the county. He said within the short time the governor has been in power, many positive developments have been witnessed in the county.

He asked local leaders to join hands with the current administration to ensure the implementation of various projects across the county.

Earlier on, Governor Kachapin led a ground breaking ceremony of the new Makutano Health Center in Makutano Town.

The Ksh. 73 million one-storey health facility will offer specialized services to Makutano Town residents as well as reduce congestion in Kapenguria County Referral Hospital and help with the overall improvement of the sector.

As part of efforts to achieve universal healthcare, the governor said that the county was rolling out new health facilities and expanding existing ones across the county.
