Governor Kachapin Explores Agrifinance Partnership with Agricultural Finance Corporation to Boost West Pokot's Agriculture Sector
H.E. Governor Simon Kachapin recently held discussions with a team from the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) to explore a strategic partnership aimed at unlocking the agricultural potential of West Pokot County through specialized agrifinance solutions. AFC, currently operational in 34 counties, is considering establishing a branch in West Pokot to provide farmers with better access to crucial financial services.
The proposed collaboration is expected to empower farmers by offering financial tools that enable investment in modern agricultural practices, thereby boosting productivity and ensuring food security. By expanding access to affordable credit, this partnership aims to improve agricultural output, raise incomes, and enhance the resilience of the county's farming sector.
Governor Kachapin encouraged local farmers to seize this opportunity by adopting advanced technologies, diversifying their crops, and scaling up their agribusinesses. He emphasized that these efforts would not only improve individual livelihoods but also contribute significantly to the county's agricultural growth and economic development.
The initiative represents the county government's ongoing commitment to fostering sustainable agricultural practices and supporting local farmers in achieving long-term success.
