CEC Member Lucky Litole Leads Alale Anti-FGM Initiative in Partnership with World Vision

This project is designed to engage 18,900 children in actively influencing their communities to combat Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriage.The launch event brought together key stakeholders, including officials from World Vision, representatives from the national government such as the Assistant County Commissioner, the County Director of Children Services, local chiefs, and community members. 

The initiative underscores the pivotal role that young people play in driving change and eliminating harmful practices like FGM and child marriage.

CEC Litole highlighted the detrimental impact of early marriage on girls, noting that it deprives them of education, health, and overall well-being, severely limiting their future opportunities. "I am proud that this project is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where girls can thrive and reach their full potential," Litole remarked.Through targeted awareness campaigns, educational programs, and community dialogues, the Alale Anti-FGM Project is fostering a cultural shift towards safeguarding children’s rights. By involving children as central participants in this movement, the project is nurturing a generation of informed and empowered individuals who will lead the fight against FGM and child marriage, paving the way for a brighter, healthier future.
